Turkish White Wine Grapes
Emir (E-mear)
Grown in Central Anatolia. Refreshing and easy to drink. Suitable for producing dry, primeur and sparkling wines. Wines of this kind are greenish-yellow.
Narince (Nah-ryn-geh)
Grown in the Tokat region for its sandy soil. Often consumed as table grape, Narince is good for dry white wine with a balanced structure. Wines of this kind are greenish-yellow when young and have a fruity aroma.
Sultaniye (Sultana)
Globally known as Sultana. Seedless grape grown in the Aegean region. Sultaniye wines are light with fruit aromas and Not suitable for aging, should be consumed within a year of bottling.
Misket (Muscat)
Grown around Izmir. Most aromatic of the white grape varieties Both dry and sweet wines from Misket should be tasted.
Sıdalan (Sid-ah-lan)
These white grapes are grown in the Thrace region. They’re incredibly aromatic with notes of lemon, green apple, pear, and wet stone. With low alcohol, this is the grape to produce a highly fruity, highly acidic, yet light-bodied wine. This elegant, refreshing grape has a strong mineral and floral note.
Yapıncak (Yah-pern-jak)
Named after its copper spots, this small, white grape has a thin skin that makes it perfect for a light-medium-bodied wine. Alongside citrus, there are strong notes of yellow fruits such as apple, pear, or quince. Add a touch of acacia and vanilla for a highly acidic, low tannin creamy wine.

Boğazkere (Boh-az-keh-ray)
Grown in Southeast Anatolia.One of the best native grapes in Turkey. Has high tannin, strong body and the potential to age. Bogazkere is traditionally blended with Öküzgözü grape.
Öküzgözü (Uh-kuhz-guh-zoo)
Grown in Elazig. The wines from Öküzgözü carries floral,fruity aromas and medium body and soft texture.
Kalecik Karasi (Kal-eh-jik Kah-rah-see)
Grown in Ankara region. Kalecik Karasi produces medium-bodied wines with red fruit aromas.
Çalkarası (Chol-Kah-rah-see)
Named as the “black of the city Çal,” these red grapes have a strong strawberry, ripe white fruit, peachy, rosy, and thyme vibe. Fresh, fruity yet floral with high acidity, these grapes make a light-medium body, low tannin wine.
Papazkarası (Pah-Pas-Kah-rah-see)
It is the local grape of Thrace. It is a red grape variety with very good examples especially around Kırklareli. It is a late maturing grape variety with medium-sized but dense clusters. This grapes make aromatic wines with medium-low tannin and high acidity.
